The Dimmer Twins Kick Off 2019 Spring Tour

Drive-By Truckers announced a summer trek that will begin this May, however,  members Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley kicked off a trek this spring as their newly formed sub-group The Dimmer Twins! The Dimmer Twins, named in homage to Glimmer Twins Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, are performing solo material as well as Drive-By Trucker fan-favorites during their setlists.
Prior to the tour's debut, both Hood and Cooley expressed their excitement at their new solo venture in an instagram post, giving fans a little insight into what they can expect from the upcoming trek.
"This week is the kickoff of the first ever tour of The Dimmer Twins. 34+ years of stories, songs and wild banter. No set lists, no game plan, just 2 gtrs, 2 microphones, 2 assholes and a case of beer. Tickets going fast in most places. Y’all come!"
Kicking off at the Savannah Music Festival, the Twins kept the night simple with a setlist completely comprised of hits from DBT. The 19-track long set featured such hits as "The Great Car Dealer War," "Where The Devil Don't Stay," "A Ghost to Most" and many more. From the sounds of it, the duo are keeping their setlist open so fans coming to their upcoming shows will likely get a new experience each night. We can't wait to hear some of the originals promised to pop-up during the new trek!

After The Dimmer Twins finish up their spring trek, Drive-By Truckers will reunite for their summer tour, kicking off May 25. The Truckers released their latest album American Band, in September 2016 and it takes a searing look at racism and privilege in the U.S. Hopefully by the start of their upcoming tour, we'll have some new music to jam to!
