The Offspring, Black Flag + More Headlined 2019 Sabroso Festival

Punk's most legendary names took over Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California over the weekend (April 6 & 7) for the most Southern California festival you could ever imagine: Sabroso Festival. The festival is home to the region's best tacos, beer, and music cultivated from their homegrown roots. They even feature Lucha Libre-style wrestling matches in between daily events to be sure to entertain everyone of all ages.

While the festival takes extreme pride over their food and beer during the day, once night falls the energy shifts toward the larger-than-life musicians that take the stage. This year, the festival welcomed headlining punk icons Black Flag, The Offspring, Bad Religion, Descendants, and Flogging Molly among many others to rock the California coast.

But of course, not everything can always go as planned...

Cancellations

While cancellations are no stranger to festival culture, a surprising cancellation could potentially make or break a festival-goer's decision to attend. Just a day before the festival was supposed to take place, pop-punk kings and fellow headliners Good Charlotte suddenly pulled out of the lineup.

Bad Religion

The Hermosa Beach-native punks kicked off their 16-track set with recent single "Chaos From Within," which gives audiences a taste of their upcoming album The Age of Unreason out May 3rd. The band performed in their typical rock-band style configuration and brought out popular tracks "American Jesus," "Sorrow," "No Control," along with brand new singles "My Sanity" and "Do the Paranoid Style." Flogging Molly

After Bad Religion's set, Irish punk band Flogging Molly hit the stage for their headlining performance. Backed by their band's giant-size logo draping the stage, the Irish rockers kicked off their set with 2008 single "(No More) Paddy's Lement" before moving into fan-favorite hit "Drunken Lullabies."

Even though it was their headlining set, the band kept their festival set capped at 15 tracks. It may be on the shorter side, but Flogging Molly include other fan-favorite tracks "Swagger," "Devil's Dance Floor," and "Seven Deadly Sins," among a slew of others. Check out their full setlist:

Black Flag

After five years sans performing live, SoCal-natives Black Flag returned from hiatus to perform 13 songs that touched upon their four albums. Ask any Black Flag fan and they might suggest you listen to 1981's Damaged or 1984's My War, but this setlist kept the balance of all their albums.

The band kicked off their headlining set with Damaged track "Depression," before going into more popular songs "Nervous Breakdown," "Six Pack" and 'Rise Above." Check out their full setlist:

Descendants

South Bay-natives the Descendants played the longest set out of all the headlining bands -- performing a 26-track set -- automatically making their set one not to miss. The pop-punk rockers performed hit after hit starting with 1982's Milo Goes to College track "Suburban Home," before picking up even more speed on tracks like "Everything Sux" and final self-titled song "Descendants." The Offspring

For the last set of Sabroso, The Offspring took the stage with the title track from their 5th studio album, "Americana." The song instantly builds in instrumentals to give the track a wholesome feel before dropping a quick-paced beat perfected for an ideal mosh pit. The band also plays mega hits "Come Out and Play," "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)," and "The Kids Aren't Alright," among so many others.
