Wacken Open Air 2017

Part of the Dystopia World Tour, the Wacken Open Air show took place on August 4, 2017 at Hauptstrasse, Wacken, Germany. This was Megadeth's second time playing the event, the first time being in 2004.

The metal icons delivered a whooping 16-song set, so whether you want to watch the whole thing, or jump in during your favorite track, we've got you covered with our Setlist Viewing Guide.

Entering the stage to "Prince of Darkness," the band fired off the set with their hit "Hangar 18," the most performed song of the tour. Throughout the set, the rockers weaved in songs that hit every corner of their career including "In My Darkest Hour," "Sweating Bullets," "Trust," "Tornado of Souls," "Symphony of Destruction" and more.

Plenty of licks off 2016's Dystopia landed on the setlist too, including "The Threat is Real," "Conquer or Die!," "Lying in State," and "Fatal Illusion," among others. Dystopia is the last studio album the band has released, rounding out their catalog to 15 albums.

The show's finale... you won't want to miss. They end the main set with "Peace Sells" and then come back to encore with Rust in Peace's "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due."

Megadeth

Don't forget to cop the Megadeth Vic Rattlehead face mask! Some of the proceeds of their merch sales will go to the band's road crew and production team.

“As we continue to self-quarantine, my thoughts go to all the production teams and road crews out there who count on artists being on the road to make a living. They are the driving force that help make things happen. It’s the road crew that help keep everything running smoothly and make the show sound and look the way we envision. Megadeth’s crew are the best in the business. We are the Megadeth family and I want to do what I can to help ease some of the financial stress they are currently experiencing.” - Mustaine
