Katy Perry, fresh from the stratosphere, began her Lifetimes Tour Wednesday (4/23), the first of a three-night stand in Mexico City.
Kicking off the show with the live debut of "ARTIFICIAL," Perry delivered five acts and an encore to the fans at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico where she plays a “half-human, half-machine” video game character named KP143.
The high-tech colorful performance included metallic costumes, stunts, and light-saber-style action scenes.

About 30% of the show was pulled from the singer's new album, 143, with a tad more focused on her Grammy-nominated smash Teenage Dream.
The remainder of her 23-song set was taken from four other albums and a standalone single.

The high concept, high production show also had some impromptu moments, including when the singer spotted two fans dressed in her Blue Origin astronaut outfit.
"You guys look so good," she said walking up the catwalk from the stage to the men close to the rail. "You just got back from space!"
She then invited the gentlemen to join her on stage because, "they are dressed like my most recent timeline."
When the men, who said they were locals from Mexico City, got near her they dropped to their knees and bowed before her.
In case you too have been in space, Katy and several other women were shot up in space earlier this month in the Blue Origin rocket owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
The New Shepard NS-31 mission lasted 10 minutes and 21 seconds. The small capsule reached soared to about 66 miles above Earth. Despite critics saying it was no biggie, Perry and the others crossed the Kármán line, which is commonly recognized as where space begins.
While high above, Perry sang a bit of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World." As a shout out to her daughter, Daisy she posed with a flower while smiling at an on-board camera.
Also on board were Oprah's best friend, Gayle King; Bezos' fiancé, Lauren Sánchez; NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe; civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen; and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
Wednesday's show was the first time Perry performed several numbers from 143 at a proper concert. You may recall last summer she live debuted five songs from the record at a dance club in West Hollywood in front of just a few hundred.
When the three nights were completed in Mexico, more than 60,000 could finally see songs like "NIRVANA" and "CRUSH" as they were intended.
And right on brand, Katy soared around the stage as if she was weightless again with Gayle and Lauren.
In another bit of original choreography, the singer, originally from Santa Barbara, put a new twist on the Robot during "Chained to the Rhythm," one of the singles from 2017's Witness.
"LIFETIMES" also made it's arena-sized live debut in the encore of the show. It was followed by the anthem "Firework" which the opening night crowd sang along to with gusto.
Katy now heads to Guadalajara for two nights and then night stops in the US. After a few weeks of a breather she takes the show to Australia and New Zealand.
