We're just days away from Coachella 2026. So for Coachella week we'll be spotlighting some groups you shouldn't miss if you have a chance.
The Two Lips are an Los Angeles dream-pop duo made up of Jewlz and Andrea who started out as solo artists but when they met each other realized it would be teamwork that would make the dream come true.
Friday they play from 5:15pm to 6pm on the Sonora Stage, which is a pretty great time slot unless you really wanted to see Teddy Swims.
The ladies quickly became besties while working together after first meeting online in 2022. The group was originally dubbed The Tulips before the name changed to The Two Lips in 2023.
Success struck quickly as their 2024 bilingual single “Still Love You (Todavia),” blew up on Spotify to the tune of 30 million streams - it's currently at more than double that.
The sweet song had elements of Clario with a Weezer drum intro and an adorable video.
After signing to Island Records last year, the ladies have released numerous singles as well as their EP Girl, C'mon. Combined it's earned them over 1.4 million Spotify followers who have streamed three of their tunes more than 10 million times.
On top, naturally, is "still love you," but 2023's "favorite apple," and 2024's "blossom" have 13 million and 11 million streams respectively.
Still it will be just a matter of time for their soft, gentle, comforting vibe to sweep the nation. We need it.
Last year they were asked if they had a pre-show ritual.
"In the beginning, this is going to sound so LA of us, but we would go get an Erewhon smoothie before every show," Jewlz told Crucial Rhythm.
"It's changed over time. Now we do a chant with our band members. Andrea does the cross three times on me. We do it in the 'Still Love You' video, we go 'two tulips do not die slowly in a vase.' Our old name used to be tulips like the flower, and there is an Omar Apollo song where he goes 'Tulips dying slowly in a vase.' We thought that was bad juju, so we always say the opposite. I feel like if we don't say it, it's bad luck.
"We also take two shots of tequila, gotta loosen the nerves and have some fun."
The Two Lips will be at Coachella on Friday and if you live in LA, they'll also be at The Roxy on April 15 on the Sunset Strip.
They'll do weekend two at Coachella on the 17th and the only other date on their calendar so far in 2026 is Shakey Knees Festival in Sept. Get your tix off their website.
