grandson Describes How His Music Empowers People To Build Community
Tour Payoff
"How this music empowers them or gives them a sense of agency in their own life. To take control of their own life, to get involved in their communities, to be apart of change- those are the moments that really stick with me and that give me a sense of fulfillment from what we're doing."

Community Building On Tour
"The songs are so intended to provide that sense of empowerment, and the way in which people relate to the messages that this project stands for. It's such an intimate connection that I feel like it would be hypocritical or just antithetical to the project to not try to put boots on the ground and if we're going to be coming back to a city like Los Angeles or Denver or whatever it is, I want over the course of our touring career to be able to have real tangible resources, raised attention allocated to building a more inclusive, progressive city. I am in such a place of priviledge to be the one with the microphone, to be able to bring people together that think differently, that look differently from one another. So the best thing that I think that I and that we can do with that space is to empower people and enable local organizers to get the attention they deserve."
