You didn’t think the hell-raising good times were over for Ice Nine Kills, did you? The horror-themed metal band has announced yet another trek for 2025, dubbed the Hell of a Summer Tour. Joined by Dayseeker, Kim Dracula, The Funeral Portrait and Mest, they’ll begin on August 10th in Waukee, IA, and continue through September 13th at their annual Silver Screen Con in Worcester, MA.
“The Hell of a Summer Tour will be a celebration of all things INK — past, present, and future,” says Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas. “It’s an eclectic bill, and having Mest on some of the shows is a particularly full-circle moment for me. As many Psychos will remember, I formed the band after seeing Goldfinger and Mest in Worcester 25 years ago. The date is so important to me that I have it tattooed behind my ear.”
Playing with your heroes is also an iconic moment as a musician, and the good times just keep coming for Ice Nine Kills. They’re currently in the midst of the Silver-Scream-A-Thon tour, in which they play both ‘Silver Scream’ albums in their entirety, along with having a European tour planned for later in 2025. Of course, they couldn’t let the warmer months pass without heating things up in true horror style, and that’s exactly what INK intends to do this summer.
Every song of theirs is based on an iconic horror film — “Funeral Derangements” channels Pet Sematary, “The American Nightmare” a nod to A Nightmare on Elm Street, etc. And then there’s last year’s “A Work of Art,” which served as the theme song for the hit film, Terrifier 3. All of these tracks come to life (ironically, since many of them are about murder!) at an Ice Nine Kills concert, where Charnas owns the stage with as many masks and fake machetes as he can muster.
Now, the gloves are coming off for the Hell of a Summer tour. The Freddy Krueger glove, that is. These shows will be an epic party for any fan of both metal and the macabre, all leading up to Ice Nine Kills’ annual convention in their native Massachussetts. Are you excited to watch a theatrical show with Charnas as Pennywise the Clown and more, before heading to Salem and meeting some of your favorite horror movie villains? Because we sure are!
