The Australian metallers opened their set with fireworks, flames, and smoke as their frontman, Winston McCall, screamed: "Are we f**king ready." The crowd was fully immersed in their pyro-heavy and intensity driven set as they had Gordon suspended in the air and simultaneously still drumming. Download accurately described the band's set as an "unforgettable spectacle."

The Hive Download
The festival also celebrated 10 years of ‘Camp Loner’ a community designed to connect solo festival-goers. One of the camp's organizers described her experience with 'Camp Loner':
“It’s a really good place and I’ve met my best mates through it. It’s a different community and a completely different vibe.”
Download additionally recognized this year to be "the most accessible and greenest [year] yet." Download integrated an "Eco Camp" where they eradicated all single-use plastic and required everyone take a pledge to recycle all of their waste. They also introduced a wheelchair charging tent, and sign language interpreters and viewing platforms for disabled people across all stages.
