Blink-182 Play Rare Classics During Las Vegas Residency

Blink-182 are currently in the middle of their highly anticipated Kings of the Weekend: Las Vegas Residency at the The Palm resort. The 16-date residency will go on for every weekend in June, then come back for one weekend in October and a couple weekends in November.

The pop-punk pioneers have been doing a fantastic job keeping fans on their toes with their setlists. They've consisted of a main 17-song set, followed by a 5-song acoustic set, then followed by two encores! While the songs in the set have remained pretty constant, with all their biggest hits to boot, they've been throwing in a couple of rarities here and there.

When they kicked off the residency on May 26th, they pulled out some forgotten classics like "The Party Song" off of 1999's Enema Of The State. That's the first time the band has OFFICIALLY (not including random impromptu performances) ever played the fan-favorite live, according to Mark Hoppus.

They also pulled a few other rare licks for this set, including "Mutt" and "Adam's Song," along with a live debut of "Home is Such a Lonely Place" and "California," both songs of their 2016 studio album California. Since that first show, they've thrown a few other deep cuts in there such as "Wasting Time" and another live debut off their lastest release, "Parking Lot."

Mark Hoppus has noted that they probably won't play the deep cuts more than once.

"I’ll peel back the curtain a little bit. For us and for hardcore Blink fans, it was a cool song, [but it’s] a deep cut from an album that came out almost 20 years ago, so a lot of people just had no idea. And first of all, it’s a hard song to play...It’s super fast. There’s nowhere to breathe. We had to work long and hard at rehearsal so that I sing the majority of the line and Matt sings the end of the line, just long enough for me to take a break and start the next line. It was a lot of work to do, and we played it and some people were like, “' can’t believe they’re playing this!' and some people were like, 'What is this song?' These are good problems to have, that your catalog is so big some people don’t recognize the songs."

That shouldn't stop you from catching the special Blink performance while they got their residency, though. We're betting they'll be pulling some other rarities out of their hats. Catch the complete dates below, and head to their website for info about tickets!
