Setlist Playlist: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 2019 Tour

Former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher (who promotes his solo material under the moniker Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds) is on the road again!
Gallagher's touring band– which consists of former Oasis guitarist Gem Archer, former Oasis session pianist Mike Rowe, former Oasis drummer Chris Sharrock and The Zutons' bassist Russel Pritchard– is supporting their recently released Wait and Return EP as well as their forthcoming EP slated for release June 14.
The group released the upcoming album's title track, "Black Star Dancing," in May, marking their first new material since 2017's Who Built the Moon?

"There’s a Bowie influence in the tune itself," Gallagher said of the song. "I would describe it as a mish-mash of a lot of watching the reruns of Top of the Pops between ‘83 and ‘87."
About the EP, he added:
"I might have been watching too much Top Of The Pops recently. Anyway, it's ‘dope’ … not my words, but the words of Nile Rodgers who literally danced in the studio when he heard it."
We know you're eagerly awaiting the new record (as are we), so let's talk a little bit about the coinciding tour that kicked off in May.
So far, the band has been playing cuts from all of their albums as well as some Oasis material. The standard setlist has consisted of 18 songs with a two-song encore of “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and a cover of The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love.”

"Fort Knox"
NGHFB have been kicking off their shows with this atmospheric Who Built the Moon? track, which is largely instrumental.
Highlighted by hip-hop-sounding drums and psychedelic strings, Gallagher says he drew inspiration for the song from a conversation about Kanye West’s “The Power.”
"The singer, Y-See, had never even heard the track, and she started to do this vocal over it, and it was like, ‘fucking hell!' It all just fell in to place," Gallagher said.

"If I Had A Gun..."
This song has found a home in the middle of the set, sandwiched between "Everybody's on the Run" and "Lock the Doors."
The track was the third single off the bands’ self-titled 2011 debut studio album, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. It was very successful in Japan following its initial release; it peaked at No. 2 on the Japan Hot 100 in 2011 and ranked at No. 77 on the end-of-the-year chart of the Japan Hot 100.

"AKA... What a Life!"
Another single off of the band’s self-titled debut record, this song is said to describe how Gallagher feels about his life.
The music video appears to finish an apparent three-video story, following videos for “If I Had a Gun…” and “The Death of You and Me.”

“Don’t Look Back in Anger” (Oasis cover)
You're not a true Oasis fan if you don't know every word to this song!
One of Oasis’ most well-known songs off their 1995 sophomore album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, this track was played at almost every live show from its release to the band’s dissolution and is known for its explosive chorus.
It remains a fan-favorite at live shows today.
