Frank Iero and the Future Violents Reveals How To Build A Strong Setlist
What makes a good show?
"If I come off stage and I feel like oh I can do that again, when I didn't do it right. If I come off stage and I'm like I have nothing left, I have no idea how I'm going to do this tomorrow, that's how I know I had a great show."
Setlist Building
"It's rough, you know, when you finally are ready to play the new stuff, it is your show, you want to play all of the stuff. But I get it, I've been a kid at shows and been like really you're going to play the whole new f*cking record? You have to kind of like lead people in. So I think we're gonna do a healthy mix. It's nice that we've had at least a tour and a half under our belt of playing old stuff. And what I really like too is having new people in the band every time is when these new musicians play the older songs, the older songs take on a new life and sound completely different so there will be a mix of old and new but everything gonna feel pretty good, which is nice. I think "Moto Pop" is going to be really fun to play first. I remember when we wrote "Moto Pop" it was like oh this going to be the first song on the record, it's going to be the first song we play live, but upon further inspection and writing "A New Day's Coming" and stuff like that it's like alright thats the easy way out to have that as the first song on the record. But I still think it's the first song we play live. There's also a song on the record called "Fever Dream" that has such a great bounce to it, I can't wait to see the crowd bounce on some of those sections. There's a few moments on this record I cannot wait to see."
