Train + Goo Goo Dolls Kickoff 2019 Tour - See What They Played!

Things got a little soggy for Train and the Goo Goo Dolls on June 7, 2019. Rainfall at the outdoor White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, WA almost threatened to shut down the first night of their joint tour. But luckily for the bands, and a crowd of very devoted fans, the bands were both able to take the stage and warm things up.
Train released their first Greatest Hits album last November, and it’s not surprising they played a lot of them live. With a massive city-scape background behind them and a neon sign proclaiming the band’s name, they dove into songs like “Great Escape,” “Her Eyes” and a mash-up of “In My Feelings” and “Soul Sister.” Part way through the set they performed a cover of Jackson Browne’s “Running on Empty” with a little bit of help from tourmate Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls.
Train closed their portion of the show with their 2001 single “Drops of Jupiter.”
The Goo Goo Dolls also treated fans to live versions of some of their favorites including “Slide,” “Iris” and “Broadway.” But they also gave the crowd a taste of something new, the live debut of the song “Miracle Pill” from their upcoming album of the same name. The show also included a live version of “Black Balloon” and a drop of giant, you guessed it, black balloons. Though at least one fan suggested that was a little bit difficult in the wet weather!
