Blink-182 Kick Off 2024 North American Tour with Live Debut

Blink-182 kicked off their 2024 North American One More Time Tour with a live debut, a pair of excellent covers, and some deep cuts that impressed the fans and made others super jealous.

Mark, Travis, and Tom ripped through 25 tunes from 10 studio albums, their greatest hits LP, and their forthcoming record, focusing on their most recent collection of bangers.

It was a pop-punk cornucopia that pleased old and new fans alike.

The show began with the eerie sounds of the theme of the WWE wrestler The Undertaker.

The trio walked onto the sparse stage with a mere video screen above them and then broke into the uplifting "Feeling This" which was followed by "The Rock Show" and it was full speed ahead.

About halfway through the set, bassist Mark Hoppus casually introduced a song they hadn't played since 2016, and hadn't played with guitarist Tom DeLonge since 2013.

"It's from an album called Cheshire Cat and it's better than anything the Beatles put out," he stated flatly. And they broke into "M+M's."

Fun fact: In 2007, after Britney Spears had an emotional dustup where she shaved off all her hair and some rehab, she took a little time off. When she returned she performed a half dozen shows at small venues (for her), like at the House of Blues. She didn't advertise as Britney. She called it M+Ms.

After Travis Barker concluded a spectacular drum solo at the end of "Not Now," the fans at the sold out Kia Center in Orlando got to hear the live debut of the somber "Can't Go Back."

Does this mean a new album is in the works? Is this a song for a movie? It's down-tempo and sounds like a bookend to "ONE MORE TIME" in that it's deep, thoughtful, mature, and the polar opposite of what most people think about when they hear the name blink-182.

Another surprise was when the band played two songs from two of their previous side projects.

First came "When Your Heart Stops Beating," the title track from Mark and Travis' spinoff band, +44. That was followed by "There Is" from the Tom and Travis side band, Box Car Racer.

Blink's One More Time 2024 North American Tour has just begun.

Will they play more songs from those side projects? Are there more new songs that will see the light? The best way to find out is to go the rock show Go Blink's website to get tickets before they sell out.
