Coldplay Debuts First New Song In Three Years

Coldplay just teased new music on the 134th stop of their “Music of the Spheres” World Tour in Athens, Greece. The sold-out Olympic Stadium was filled to the brim with eager fans, nearly 70,000 of them, who all got to experience the first new music from Coldplay in three years.

The Olympic Stadium physically shook with excitement and unbridled joy as Coldplay transported fans to their color-filled universe, with a four-act-long, career spanning extravaganza for their second show in Athens.

After a night of impressive visuals and electrifying performances, Chris Martin sat alone at a galaxy-painted piano, and live debuted the unreleased ballad, “All My Love.” What seems like another in a long list of Coldplay’s devotional love songs, this time, the band chose to express their gratitude and appreciation for none other than their loyal fan base. At the show, Martin admitted, “this is how we feel about all of you, thank you.”

The song is a heart-warming declaration of love, a testament to the mutual adoration between the band and their fans. During the song’s introduction, Martin slips some more exciting news, admitting that the audience wasn’t supposed to hear the song until September. Could this mean a new Coldplay album is on the horizon? It would be their first since 2021’s Music of the Spheres, and based on the reception of “All My Love,” fans can’t wait for more.

While in Greece, the band filmed a music video for another new track at the historic Odeon of Herodes Atticus, a theater within the Acropolis dating back to 161 AD. After teasing “Feels Like I’m Falling in Love” on socials June 7, and sound checking the song before their first night in Athens on June 8, the band invited local fans to attend the music video shoot on June 10th.

With snippets circulating throughout Coldplay’s global network of devotees, fans have already fallen in love with the band’s new music. In an interview with Canada’s City News back in 2023, Martin mentioned that they were finishing up an album called “Moon Music,” which he described as “the second Music of the Spheres volume.” The band took to their socials to share a recent update on the albums “final bit of recording.”

As they’re set to continue their world tour through November, here’s to hoping for more exciting surprises and prospective “Moon Music” teasers from one of the world’s favorite the bands.
