Remi Wolf Covered 18 Gems Meant For Bonnaroo SuperJam

Remi Wolf was not going to let a little rain dampen the parade of covers she had practiced for Bonnaroo.

When her night at the Tennessee music fest was canceled due to a devastating inch of rain, the former American Idol contestant moved the Insanely Fire 1970’s SuperJam Pool Party from Memphis to Nashville and on Saturday (6/14) created core memories for the 1,200 insanely lucky attendees.

Those who got into the Brooklyn Bowl were stoked to see Wolf with Hayley Williams of Paramore, Brian Jones from Vampire Weekend, Gigi Perez, Mt. Joy, as well as Grouplove who added to the fun... and funk.

These Bonnaroo Superjams have become quite a thing. Last year's starred Dashboard Confessional who led an Emo themed superjam that included The Beaches covering Paramore.

In 2023, Wolf herself was a special guest of Vulfpeck's Cory Wong - who also wrangled Hanson to play a pair of covers for his Syncopated Superjam.

Remi and guitarist Grace Bowers knocking out David Bowie's "Fame" Saturday night in Nashville.

Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff used the theme of his birth year of 1984 for the 2022 Superjam and was joined by guests from Carly Rae Jepsen to Blu DeTiger.

So Remi had a high bar to live up to, and she nailed it with a few of her own songs and a huge collection of radio-friendly groovy gems from the bell bottoms era we all miss so much.

The curation of titles were delectable. Hall & Oates, ABBA, Blondie, Bee Gees, Doobies, Steely Dan; and even a nice tribute to Sly Stone who had just passed, were worthy of a mix tape to an equally thirsty crush.

Two of the tracks were David Bowie covers. For "Rebel Rebel" Remi got behind the drums while Grouplove did the honors on the mic.

But of all the duets and collabs, none could compare to Hayley and Remi who really should just put out a lil EP from this short list, for science.

And while they're at it, film the whole thing because together they are just too adorable.

If their version of "Sweet Thing" doesn't do it for you, for example, my sympathies.

Then to spike the football they doubled up on the Chaka Khan / Rufus with "Tell Me Something Good."

The jubilant night ended with the Earth Wind & Fire classic, "September" with a packed stage of all her guests letting it all hang out.

It was an incredible reminder that everlasting melodies, loud horns, and as corny as it may sound, love, is what live music is all about when it's played for the right reasons and best intentions.

Remi Wolf is currently on her Big Ideas Tour which now moves into some more summer festivals.

The next stop is at Festival d’été de Québec in the incredibly romantic Québec City a few weeks later she plays Minnesota Yacht Club. Later she'll entertain the kids at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

Tickets available on Remi's website.
