For once Sunday did not come too late as Robert Smith joined Olivia Rodrigo on the last night of Glastonbury (6/29) for a pair of classic Cure bangers.
The 22-year-old pop star has continued her streak of dueting with silver foxes old enough to be her granddad.
You may remember earlier this month the 3x Grammy-winner danced around with Talking Heads frontman David Byrne at the Gov Ball across the pond in NYC.

From the festival's flagship Pyramid Stage, Rodrigo introduced the 66-year-old Smith as “the greatest songwriter to come out of England,” which is certainly an opinion shared by the 200k in attendance.
Together, they performed both “Friday I’m in Love” and “Just Like Heaven” to the delight of the crowd, including the crusty crabs who criticized the organizers for placing 79-year-old Neil Young on the same Pyramid Stage as a headliner. Too old, they whaled.
Enter 66-year-old Smith to remind them that boys don't cry.
"Friday I'm In Love" went to #18 in the US singles charts in 1992. It was their last time in the Top 40. The album went to #1 in the UK and #2 in the States.
Olivia was negative 11 years-old when people were marching to the record stores to by that Wish cd that also contained the lead single "High" and the oft-overlooked “A Letter to Elise.”
Not to make anyone feel even older than they should, Rodrigo was negative one years old when The Cure's Greatest Hits came out in just in time for Christmas 2001.
Not only was it the third time "Friday I'm in Love" made it on a Cure album, but it was the fourth time a version of "Just Like Heaven" the Brits placed in on an official LP
“Just Like Heaven” appears on the Cure’s 1987 studio album Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, the live albums Show (1993), Festival 2005, Bestival Live 2011, and 40 Live – Curaetion-25 + Anniversary (2019), as well as the 2001 compilations Greatest Hits and Greatest Hits: Acoustic.

"The way they bring out new and different shades to these songs is one of the greatest treats of this year’s festival," The Guardian UK gushed.
Should we be asking for a Olivia Rodrigo duets album? If her pairing with Gwen Stefani and No Doubt at the 2024 Coachella wasn't one of your highlights, can we really be friends?
That March she teamed up with Sheryl Crow for the second time in two years do cover "If It Makes You Happy."
And in 2024 she also brought down the house with being joined on stage by her old pal Chappell Roan where the two jumped around the Intuit Dome singing "Hot To Go."
Olivia is staying in Europe through July... could she possibly pop into Ozzy's final show to cover "Close My Eyes Forever" since she loves these old classic rock stars?
For now she has not been invited. But you are invited to go to her website and gobble up tickets to her upcoming gigs.
