Calling all Carpenters! (Sabrina Carpenter fans that is!) During her Friday (06/06) at the Primavera Sound Festival, singer Sabrina Carpenter live debuted her newly released single, “Manchild.”
Carpenter came out on stage dressed in a bedazzled navy jumpsuit, her name in white crystals across her chest. Wearing 70’s style gogo boots, she threw in a line dance during the live debut of “Manchild.” The hour and fifteen minute show also included other surprises for fans, as Carpenter switched up her setlist and delivered special renditions for a few of her songs. She played extended versions of “Busy Woman,” “Juno,” and “Coincidence” while also covering the Weather Girls popular song “It’s Raining Men.”

Earlier this week, singer Sabrina Carpenter announced on her socials that she would be dropping a new single titled “Manchild” on Thursday (05/05). In her vintage-themed video, Carpenter is seen with her sporting her signature blond curls trying to hitchhike in the desert. Shortly after the music video was posted, fans flooded her comment section with excitement.
One fan wrote, “SUMMER OF SABRINA AND MAY IT CONTINUE FOREVER”
Fellow songwriter Tate Mcrae replied with a simple, “Yes pls”
A few hours before her performance at Primavera, Carpenter dropped the music video for “Manchild.” Eagle-eyed fans picked up on the connections between all of her recent videos starting with “Espresso” then to “Please Please Please” continuing on with “Manchild.” Carpenter also referenced popular movies like Traffic, Wanda, Badlands, and Thelma & Louise.
Carpenter will be continuing on with the second leg of her “Short n Sweet” Tour which will pick up again in October, after a summer of festival appearances. In the past year, Carpenter had multiple sold-out shows, inspiring her to add a second North American leg that will wrap with six nights at Los Angeles’ Cyrpto Arena. Fans can expect a fun set filled with sparkles and lots of Carpenter’s famous jokes!
