Setlist History: Linkin Park's Last Show, RIP Chester

On this date (July 20) one year ago we lost Chester Bennington, the voice of a generation and one of our all time favorite rockstars. The late singer of Linkin Park had died from suicide on July 20, 2017 after suffering from severe depression and alcoholism. Today, the members of Linkin Park and fans everywhere have taken to social media to remember and pay tribute to the legend. The band members Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, Dave Farrell, Rob bourdon, and Brad Delson posted this emotional message on Instagram and Twitter about their past year:

“To our brother Chester,” they wrote. “It has been a year since your passing — a surreal rotation of grief, heartbreak, refusal, and recognition. And yet it [still] feels like you are close by, surrounding us with your memory and your light. Your one-of-a-kind spirit has authored an indelible imprint on our hearts — our jokes, our joy, and our tenderness.”

“Eternally grateful for the love, life, and creative passion you shared with us and the world,” the note continued. “We miss you more than words can express.” It was signed with “love,” along with the Suicide Prevention Lifeline and the hashtags, “#MakeChesterProud” and “#320ChangesDirection.”

Linkin Park was in the middle of their One More Light World Tour that was in support of their seventh studio album. But, after the passing of Chester Bennington, the band cancelled all of their remaining tour dates. Nearly four months later, the band put on the Chester Bennington Memorial Concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California. The band was joined on stage by an abundance of special guests including Machine Gun Kelly, Blink 182, Steve Aoiki, Jon Green, and many more to remember and celebrate the life of Chester Bennington.
