Rare Setlist Spoilers: Dave Matthews Band 2019 Summer Tour

As the only band with seven consecutive albums to debut at number one, it’s easy to understand why Dave Matthews Band has been touring virtually nonstop for years. With yet another hit album added to their catalogue last year (Come Tomorrow), the group seems somewhat unstoppable in the world of music. However, the minimal time they do have off keeps the band polished and eager to get back out on the road to share their classic sound with fans across the world. The Grammy Award-winning rockers kicked off their 2019 North American summer tour back in April and will continue touring across the United States through September 22 before heading to South America for a couple of shows into October.
Fortunately, while their tour schedule is busy enough for fans to see their favorite band multiple times a decade, Dave Matthews Band never fails to entertain their die-hard audience with their ever-changing setlists and performances at each and every show. So what can fans expect to see on this North American leg of their 2019 tour? Well, there’s a lot to dissect, but I’m going to provide as much insight as I possibly can with these tour spoilers!
Who is the opener? As with a lot of big rock acts, Dave Matthews Band 2019 North American summer tour does not have an opener. Expect the band to hit the stage close to the set start time!
Which song do they open the show with? Your guess is as good as mine! Dave Matthews Band is known to change their setlist for every show. However, they have opened with “Tripping Billies” and “So Much to Say” a couple of times on the tour thus far, so you may want to look out for those hits.
How many songs should fans expect to hear at the show? Like the choice in songs themselves, the number of songs on each night’s setlist has also changed throughout the tour. In general, you can expect them to play anywhere between twenty and twenty-five songs a night!
Are there any songs that have remained on their setlist each night? Although the order of songs is unpredictable, there are a few classics that have found their way onto the setlist more nights than others. Keep your ears open for “#41,” “Ants Marching,” and “Tripping Billies.”

Any deep cuts? The band has dug deep into their catalogue, performing some songs that haven’t seen much live exposure at all. For example, “Joyride,” “#36” and “If I Had It All” had all been performed fewer than ten times over the past two decades before the start of this tour!
Are they performing anything from Dave Matthews’ solo catalogue? While you can’t count on it every night, they have performed a few different Dave Matthews hits including “Stay or Leave,” “Save Me” and “Some Devil.”
What about covers? Fans should expect mostly Dave Matthews Band originals, however the band has played a couple of enjoyable covers like “Sledgehammer” by Peter Gabriel and “Fly Like an Eagle” by Steve Miller Band.

What’s the production like? Other than an unexpected thunderstorm delay in Charlotte, North Carolina, Dave Matthews Band has kept their shows relatively simple with minimal production, with the exception of a unique curved monitor backdrop and light show. As expected, it’s more about the incredible music than anything else.
Is there an encore? Yes! Fans should expect to cheer for an encore once the band first leaves the stage. The only exception thus far has been in Charlotte where the thunderstorm delayed the show too long for the band to perform an encore.
Can we see a recent setlist? Look no further...
