Concert of Day: Grateful Dead 22-Song in Pittsburgh Summer 1990

Shakedown Stream is back for another Grateful Dead show to brighten up your quarantine Friday. This week's vault brings Dead Heads a show from July 8, 1990 at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh.

The 22-song set was part of their Summer 1990 Tour. It was an extra special day because Crosby, Stills and Nash opened and warmed up the crowd before the Dead took the stage.

The first set featured several covers after opening up with "Touch of Grey." They treated fans to special renditions of "Minglewood Blues" (Cannon's Jug Stompers), "Mama Tried" (Merle Haggard), and "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" (Bob Dylan). They end the set after 9 songs with "Let it Grow."

The second set lifted off with the traditional "Samson and Delilah" before diving into seamless jams of "Eyes of The World," "Estimated Prophet" and "Terrapin Station." The second set ends on a cover of Bobby "Blue" Bland's "Turn On Your Love Light" and then encored with Jerry doing a gorgeous rendition of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan.
