Guns N' Roses Play 20-Song Setlist on Slash's Birthday in 1991

British rocker Saul Hudson, best known by his stage name, Slash, rose to worldwide fame as the lead guitarist for Guns N' Roses in the late 1980's. The rocker has gone on to become one of the greatest guitarists of our time, establishing an incredibly successful career over the years with not only Guns N' Roses but forming the supergroup Velvet Revolver along the way and even setting out on his own as a solo artist.
Today (July 23), the iconic rocker turns 55 years young and to pay tribute to one of the greatest of greats, we're taking a dive into a setlist Slash played on his birthday way back when. The show took place at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California on July 23, 1991 as part of Guns N' Roses' Use Your Illusion Tour which ran from January 20, 1991 through July 17, 1993. The Use Your Illusion Tour included an astounding 194 shows in total, making it Guns N' Roses largest tour to date.
The 20-song setlist included a number of GNR hits and covers to mix it up including performances of Wings "Live and Let Die" and Bob Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" which featured an intro of Alice Cooper's "Only Women Bleed." The show opened with "Perfect Crime" and while the main set closed with the Bob Dylan cover, the guys came back for a 2-song encore which featured "Estrange" and closed with the hit single "Paradise City."
