2020 is a year with no music festivals because we're living through a bonafide pandemic, but that doesn't mean we can think back on past festivals while we patiently wait to make new memories again.
Today we're revisiting Lollapalooza 2005, when Pixies headlined the fest for their first time. Pixies broke up in 1993 but reunited a decade later. In 2005, the band was only making festival appearances. The line-up also still had OG member Kim Deal.
Their headlining set carried a whopping 25 songs, typical for them. The setlist hit on all corners of their career as they opened with "Bonehead." Fans got to hear their favorites like "U-Mass," "Wave of Mutilation," "Monkey Gone to Heaven," "No. 13 Baby," "Hey," "Gigantic," and "Here Comes Your Man," just to name a few.
They weaved in their rendition of Neil Young's "Winterlong," but the most special cover was a performance of "In Heaven (Lady in the Radiator Song)." The Lolla crowd got treated to an encore of "Where Is My Mind?" Check out the entire setlist here:
