I Prevail and Halestorm Kick Off Tour with a Live Debut

Thousands of Metalheads met up in Raleigh, NC, on July 9th for the kickoff of I Prevail and Halestorm's co-headlining trek, and it was as incredible as you'd expect. The two heavy bands not only worked through revolutionary setlists in their own right, but also live-debuted their brand-new collaborative track!

As one of the most anticipated metal tours of 2024, people have waited months to see these two bands share the stage. And as you'd expect, each group went above and beyond to deliver an epic show. Let's start with Halestorm, shall we? Lzzy Hale's gorgeous and gritty vocals were on point during the band's 12-song setlist. Whether belting out old favorites like "Freak Like Me" and "I Miss the Misery" to modern tracks from their 2022 album, Back from the Dead, including "The Steeple" and the titular track, she was 100% in her element.

Halestorm setlist

The music festival mainstays looked right at home on the big stage, powered by aggressive guitar riffs and thunderous drumming as a soundtrack to Hale's one-of-a-kind vocals. The crowd never stopped pumping their fists or pouring their hearts out between songs. And even as Halestorm exited the stage, their tour mates received just as much love from the audience. I Prevail is known for their empowering, emotional, and innovative songs that hit you right in the heart, and these anthems are even more powerful live.

Their setlist included all the staples — including "Hurricane," "Breaking Down," "Body Bag," "There's a Fear in Letting Go" and more. And of course, we can't forget their now-iconic cover of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space," which has 78 million views on YouTube and translated even better live for the Swifties in the crowd. Between Brian Burkheiser's clean vocalists and Eric Vanlerberghe's aggressively melodic screams, they were met with a grand reaction to every song. Especially one in particular.

When it was time to perform "can u see me in the dark?", their just-released collaborative single with Halestorm, they brought out Lzzy Hale for the ultimate metal mashup. A dark kind of duet that had the audience roaring from start to finish! Collabs are the bread and butter of the metal community, and they couldn't resist the chance to re-create their epic partnership in the flesh. Will Hale's presence during the track become a nightly tradition on the rest of the I Prevail and Halestorm tour? We can only hope!
