Addison Rae Duetted with Lana Del Rey Twice at Wembley

Lana Del Rey seems eternally open to guests to share her stage.

She appears to be into live collabs for a few reasons, top of which is she sure seems uncomfortable not just touring, but being alone on stage.

Enter Addison Rae, who was the opening performer at Lana's headlining gig at Wembley Stadium Thursday (7/3) and Friday (7/4), joined Mrs. Del Rey at the end of both shows.

Before anyone thinks pointing out the obvious is criticism, there is nothing but love being directed at LDR, her ways, her voice, her songs, her quirkiness, or her human-ness.

If anything her ability to keep it real while avoid being a diva, ironically, makes her the coolest diva around. Does she need a bunch of dancers, background singers on a porch swing, or an elaborate set to hide behind? Not one bit.

If she just pulled up a stool in the middle of the crowd and led a 90-minute sing-a-long, she would pack any sized stadium she wanted, and the fans would be just as into it as they are during this UK and Ireland Tour.

But that's not who your Brooklyn Baby is.

She wants the intricate stage we marveled at in Coachella with the Romeo & Juliet balcony. She wants to duet with Billie and Jelly Roll and Quavo of all people.

So of course she's gonna want to belt out a pair of bangers with Addison Rae. Just look at how happy Haim was when she simply danced around their stage.

Our records show that in the 19+ years Lana has been performing live, she's done 480 gigs, and has been involved in 66 duets with 34 artists.

On the other side of the coin is AC/DC who has performed over 2,000 show in over 50 years. They have had one guest. And that was at their Rock Hall of Fame induction 22 years ago, and one could assume they did it under protest because they haven't had someone climb on stage with them ever again.

But here's the beautiful thing: Lana and Addison were sooooo good together.

So lovely. So sweet.

Addison is clearly a giant fan. And Lana, as always couldn't have been more supportive and generous.

"I'm so excited to have Addison come back on with me," Lana told the crowd before the pair covered Rae's "Diet Pepsi."

Then they sang Lana's "57.5" together - yes.

Controversial take: this is the tour Lana should embark on. Lana + Addison.

Addison doing her best to warm up the Wembley crowd.

But this pairing needs a third leg: Chappell Roan. While it's clear that Lana is not going to fly from ropes like P!nk or get in soaring car like Beyoncé, when fans pay as much as they are for tickets, like it or not, they want spectacle. It's what they have been raised on and expect.

Lana is obviously a long walk on the beach type, not a hang from the chandelier after doing body shots and rails in the ladies room.

With the second Wembley show, that is a wrap on the UK & Ireland Tour. Our girl is not a road warrior. She doesn't tour a lot. When you get a chance to see her you should run, not walk, to get those rare tickets.

So why not package a night of Addison wearing barely there outfits and dancing, Chappell going all-in on the theater-kid who finally has a big budget, followed by the queen of the Sad Girls strolling through a 14-song set that ignores predictable marketing plans?

Not everyone wants to give a Eras-style show. Not everyone has the desire to dance around like Lady Gaga. And some fans are quite content sitting back and watching an anti-Diva lead by example by doing what she wants if she's being pushed onto a stage and forced to sing her beautiful songs a few dozen times a year.

As the short UK and Ireland Tour wraps up, it makes one wonder: would Lana prefer doing a residency somewhere? Like Radio City or the Disney Hall or somewhere in Vegas?

Would she be interested in having someone put together a Sphere show, so instead of a dozen others on the stage and guests, she could distract the crowd with that cutting edge video tech?

Nobody should have to be forced to do what they don't want and there are some stars who would rather be fishing.

Fiona Apple, David Byrne, Kate Bush, Daft Punk, Frank Ocean, Rihanna, Sade, André 3000, Björk, and Lauryn Hill are all kickass performers who rarely tour and have made due.

With that said, to sell out two nights at Wembley like NBD is something not everyone on that list could pull off. Let's hope she takes that as a clue that her adoring fans would love to see just a little more of her.

Lana only has one more show left on her dance card this year. Hinterland in Iowa. Go to her website to score your ticket. Make a pilgrimage.
