Gracie Abrams celebrated the release of her new album Daughter from Hell with an intimate hometown-style performance at New York City's Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday, July 14. The free, 500-capacity show gave lucky fans an early look at the singer-songwriter's latest material, with Abrams performing eight unreleased songs alongside fan favorites.

Opening with a powerful run of "Death Wish," "Broke My Heart," and lead single "Hit the Wall," Abrams quickly reminded the packed crowd why she's become one of pop's most captivating live performers. But beyond the energetic opening stretch, the night was defined by its emotional atmosphere and the debut of much of Daughter from Hell.

"I just want to start by saying that I feel each and every one of you so clearly here tonight," Abrams told the audience during her first address of the evening. She waved to familiar faces throughout the room, acknowledging fans who had supported her from the beginning. "I desperately miss playing in rooms this size and I love being able to see every single one of your faces," she added before leading a cathartic sing-along of "I Told You Things."

One of the evening's most memorable moments came during the live debut of "Humming." On a humid summer night in New York, Abrams invited the entire crowd to become part of the performance by recording their sustained harmonies with a multi-track loop machine.

"I really want you guys to be on the song," she told the audience before layering their voices beneath her own to create an impromptu backing track. The finished result visibly moved the singer.

"That's special," Abrams said with a smile. "Our first duet together."

The Bowery Ballroom performance also served as something of a homecoming. Abrams previously played the legendary venue on February 14, 2022, during her This Is What It Feels Like Tour, long before she was selling out arenas around the world. Returning to the 500-person room gave fans a rare opportunity to see the Grammy-nominated artist in one of the smallest venues she'll likely play this era.

In total, Abrams performed 13 songs, including eight tracks from Daughter from Hell making its live debut.

Following the album release celebration, Abrams will return to the road later this year. Her Look at My Life Tour officially kicks off on December 2 in Colorado, with tickets available now through her official website.
