On the heal's of releasing their new album High as Hope, Florence + The Machine are getting ready for their North American jaunt in support of that album. Their 23-date tour kicks off this Sunday (August 5) in Montreal, Canada and includes performances at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl and New York's Barclays Center, as well as festival appearances at Outside Lands, Life is Beautiful, Grandoozy, and Skookum festivals. The band is also being joined by an impressive list of tour mates, that will alternate as opening acts, including St. Vincent, Lizzo, Kamasi Washington, Grizzly Bear, Perfume Genius, Beth Ditto, Billie Eilish and Wet.
Their album, High as Hope, is the first album the band has released in 3 years and it has been receiving epic praise since. We are anxious for this record to hit the road with the band but I've been deeply pondering what exactly else will be making their setlists. So, we turned to our vast database to give us those answers. Check out our predictions on what will be hitting the stage with the band.
Songs off High as Hope:
“Hunger”— This is easily the most popular song off their new album so far. The track already has over 28,000,000 streams on Spotify and is the most performed off the new album since.
“Sky Full Of Song” — This was the first single released off their new album and has already been performed a dozen times this year.
“Big God”— Even though this song has only been performed twice, I'm confident it will still be a definite for their setlists. It was the third single released from the album and has quickly become a fan favorite.
“Patricia”— This is the seventh track off High as Hope and has already been performed 11 times by the band.
The Obvious Tracks:
"Dog Days Are Over"— This is easily the band's most popular song and also their most performed. This song has over 220,000,000 streams on Spotify and has seen they stage over 400 times.
“Ship To Wreck” — This was the second song released off their album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful and was nominated for Best Pop Duo/ Group Performance at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
"Cosmic Love" — The sixth single off off the band's debut album Lungs is another easy fan-favorite and the band's second most performed song. It's a dramatic telling of someone falling in love with someone who doesn't seem to return the feelings.
The Probably Not's:
“My Boy Builds Coffins"— Even though this is a very popular song from the band, they have only played it one time since 2011.
“Blinding” — This song is also off their debut album and also has only been played one time since 2011. So, not looking like a likely choice for this tour
“Leave My Body” — This is the 12th track off their 2011 LP, Ceremonials and hasn't made any setlist since back when the band went on tour in support of that album.
“No Light, No Light” — Even though this song has been performed over 130 times by the band, I don't think it will make the cut for this round of setlists. With that said, if the band does a lot of switching up each night maybe we will get to see this track hit the stage again.
