Just like that, another Reading & Leeds Festival is in the books! The annual festivals took place this weekend, August 23-25, 2019.
The weekend was filled with surprises including live debuts, guest appearances and tons of great tunes and good vibes. Among the performers: The 1975, Charli XCX, Post Malone, Foo Fighters, The Wombats, Lil Baby, Kim Petras, Loud Luxury and so many more.
A note for the newbies– because they feature the same artists and overlap the same weekend, the festivals are grouped together and referred to as Reading & Leeds Festival (singular).
We broke down some of our favorite moments from the weekend by festival, by day. Buckle up and check them out!
Reading Festival
Reading is currently the world's longest-running popular music festival, dating back to the 60s!
Many of the UK's most successful rock acts have played at the festival over the years, including The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Cream, Black Sabbath... the list is endless.
Check out the highlights from this year's festival at Little John's Farm below, and keep reading for highlights from Leeds!
Friday (August 23)
Charli XCX gave fans a glimpse into her forthcoming self-titled album, Charli, with a 13-song set on the main stage. She played new songs "Blame It On Your Love" and "Gone," some older cuts like "Track 10" and "Boom Clap" and a few covers including Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" and Icona Pop's "I Love It."
She's heading on tour to celebrate the album this fall. Check out those dates here, and watch her perform "Blame It On Me!"
The 1975 also took to the main stage to give fans a preview of what's to come on their upcoming installment, Notes on a Conditional Form, slated for release in February.
Notes follows this year's A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, and fans are speculating a totally new sound. The Matty Healy-fronted quartet live-debuted their freshly released noise punk single, "People," as well as a snippet of an instrumental called "Depth" in their 22-song set.
Watch the first-ever performances of "Depth" and "People" below!
Saturday (August 24)
On Saturday, indie pop outfit Blossoms hit up the main stage to perform hits such as "At Most a Kiss," "Cool Like You" and "There's a Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)." They also covered Davie Bowie's "Let's Dance!"
Peep their slinky performance of "Your Girlfriend" from the main stage!
Post Malone headlined the main stage on Saturday, and all we can say is "Wow." He performed an 18-song set, including hits like "Goodbyes," "Psycho," "White Iverson" and "Congratulations."
Here's a fan-vid of Posty's entrance and opening number, "Wow."
Sunday (August 25)
SWMRS kept us hydrated/cleared our skin on Sunday, not just with their signature Yeti reusable water bottles, but also with their seven-song set!
The Oakland four-piece treated fans to songs "D'you Have a Car?," "Too Much Coffee" and "Lose Lose Lose."

Reading and Leeds heavyweights Bastille performed a 15-song set on the BBC Radio 1 stage.
They played mostly cuts from their new album, Doom Days, like "Another Place," "Joy," "Million Pieces" and the title track, but also fan-favorites like "Happier" and "Pompeii."
Check out this rendition of "Another Place."
Headlining act Foo Fighters brought out their hefty 25-song setlist that included slow versions of "Wheels" and "Big Me," and covers of Queen, Rick Astley, AND AC/DC! Check out the setlist below:
Leeds Festival
The weekend festivities continued at Bramham Park in Leeds!
Due to increasing demand and popularity of the Reading Festival, the Leeds Festival came into existence in 1999. In its first year, all the bands performed at Leeds the day after Reading, with Reading running from Friday-Sunday and Leeds running from Saturday-Monday, but it switched to the current format in 2001.
Check out this year's highlights!
Friday (August 23)
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes ended our suffering with a 10-song set on the main stage (they actually didn't play "End of Suffering," but instead treated fans to songs "Kitty Sucker," "Vampires," "Crowbar" and "I Hate You").
Watch the band celebrate being "whoever the f*ck you want to be" (their words!) during "Crowbar."
Aussie pop-punk outfit The Faim got us "Tongue Tied" on the BBC Radio 1 stage with an eight-song set, including new songs from their upcoming album State of Mind like "Amelie," "Humans" and "Beautiful Drama."
The band recently stopped by our Setlist studio to talk about their fiery live shows and current co-headlining tour with Stand Atlantic...watch it HERE.

Saturday (August 24)
The Wombats push, and we tend to shove (while we mosh). The Liverpool trio illuminated the main stage on Saturday with a 10-song set.
Their setlist included "Cheetah Tongue" and "Lemon to a Knife Fight" off 2018's Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life as well as oldies but goodies "Greek Tragedy," "Give Me a Try" and "Let's Dance to Joy Division."
Here's "Lemon to a Knife Fight!"
The Maine brought their Emo Carnival and some "Bad Behavior" to The Pit/The Lock Up!
Highlights included You Are OK songs "Heaven, We're Already Here," "Numb Without You" and "Slip the Noose."
Check out their performance of "Slip The Noose!"
Sunday (August 25)
Sadly, all good things must come to an end, even Reading & Leeds. Luckily, Billie Eilish always knows what to do "when the party's over!"
Eilish's "bad guy" is now the No. 1 song on the Hot 100, de-throning Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road." She hit up the main stage with a 13-song set, highlighting songs "COPYCAT," "wish you were gay" and "bury a friend."
Watch this fan video of Billie performing "when the party's over!"
twenty one pilots went ham the other day at Reading, and they brought even more surprises to their set at Leeds!
The Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph duo performed Trench songs "Chlorine," "Jumpsuit" and "Morph" and brought out a special guest during their cover of Oasis' "Don't Look Back in Anger..."
...Post Malone!
Watch Posty just mosey on stage with his guitar like it's NBD!
