We caught up with California natives AFI before their set at Irvine's FivePoint Amphitheatre. The punk band has been on the road with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Smashing Pumpkins. The North American summer dates kicked off at New Jersey's BB&T Pavilion on August 8th and will wrap up tomorrow at Shoreline Amphitheatre.
Moments before the four-piece hit the stage to open their 8-track setlist with Sing the Sorrow's "Girl's Not Grey," the group was kind enough to let us document their pre-show routine and capture some portraits. Take a look at some exclusive behind the scenes photographs from the set:
As the smoke machines welcomed the band on stage, we headed to photograph their performance. "Love Like Winter' and 'Get Dark" followed the opening of their set. AFI's latest self-titled release and tenth studio album dropped January 20, 2017 via Concord records. At the Irvine stop of their current tour, the band performed "Snow Cat" from the self-titled, 'blood album'.
