Concert of Day: Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax Play NY 2011

Metallica Mondays continue as The Four Horsemen offer up another classic show of theirs for your entertainment! This week, Metallica shared a very special and a very big show... their September 14, 2011 concert which they played as part of The Big 4 with rock legends Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. The concert took place at Yankees Stadium in The Bronx, New York.

When The Big 4 was announced, it was a dream come true for fans of rock as the four metal heavy hitters trekked across Europe for a 14-date stretch that only included 2 US stops, one in Indio, California on April 23, 2011 and the other on September 14, 2011 where they wrapped up the epic outing in New York. The latter was the show picked for this weeks #MetallicaMondays so let's dive in to the setlist to see what was played shall we?

Metallica played an 18-song setlist during the livestream which opened with "Creeping Death" and closed the main set with their classic hit "Enter Sandman." They followed up the signature song with a 3-song encore, a cover of Motörhead's "Overkill" where they were joined by Anthrax, Chris Broderick, Dave Ellefson, Shawn Drover, Dave Lombardo, Kerry King and Gary Holt.
