Sam Fender Played 16 Songs at First Socially Distanced Show in UK

The UK got their first taste of the "new normal" last night, August 11th, with the first socially distanced concert event to take place since the COVID pandemic devastated the world.
Taking the first go at performing the pandemic-style concert was up and coming indie rock star Sam Fender. It took place at the new outdoor Virgin Money Unity Arena in Newcastle, and 2,500 fans attended. The stage was set up in the middle of the field with fenced areas where people were designated to sit with their groups (up to five people.)

Pre-ordering of liquor could be done through the venue's website, hand sanitizer was available at entry points, and fans got an assigned "arrival time" to prevent overcrowding at entrances.
As people settled into the new concerting experience, Fender went off without a hitch. He performed a 16-song setlist that kicked off with "Will We Talk?" off his debut studio album Hypersonic Missiles, which dropped in 2019.
Fender also treated fans to the live debut THREE new songs, two of them called "17 Going Under" and "The Kitchen." He also weaved in every song off his 2018 EP Dead Boys. The set ended on "Hypersonic Missiles" and without an encore.

Could this new way of concerting work for the foreseeable pandemic future? Fans seemed to have enjoyed the experience, reporting that it was "civilized" and "brilliantly organized."
We love that!
Fender will play again at Virgin Money on August 13th, that show is sold out!
