Muna Kick Off Tour in Chicago with 18-song Setlist

Muna, the queer pop trio signed to Phoebe Bridgers' label Saddest Factory, recently released their third album. To support their self-titled offering, which has already produced five singles, the band have hit the road. Zig-zagging around the country, this month the LA natives will find themselves (and opening act Jensen McRae) in the midwest and the south, followed by a handful of dates on the west coast, highlighted with an appearance at the Day In Day Out festival in Seattle Washington.

MUNA tour kickoff setlist

In late July, Muna kicked off their show in Chicago with a live debut of their most recent single "What I Want." The ladies, who met each other when they were students at USC, went on to deliver a total of 18 songs in the set including four other live debuts from the MUNA album: "Loose Garment," "Solid," "Runner’s High," and "No Idea."  Singer Katie Gavin, lead guitarist Josette Maskin and multi-instrumentalist Naomi McPherson are no strangers to sprinkling covers into their sets. The group, who were first signed to RCA in 2016, have covered iconic artists from U2 to Michael Jackson to Stevie Nicks in concert. At the July 28th Thalia Hall gig, which was a bit of a tune up for their appearance at Lollapalooza across town the next day, the band paid homage to The Killers' hit, "Mr. Bright Eyes." It was just the second time the band had covered the Vegas rockers live.

MUNA setlist - Lollapalooza

Muna proudly backs the LGBTQ+ life and are not shy to proclaim precisely who they are. Their songs have appeared in queer films like 2017's horror/romance “The Carmilla Movie” and 2018's “Alex Strangelove" which was produced by Netflix. Most recently they covered Britney Spears' "Sometimes" for Hulu's gay rom/com "Fire Island."

Once Muna completes their fall tour in the US, they'll take a short break and fly across the pond to perform 9 shows in the UK. Opening those shows will be East London's Bimini who was the runner up in season two of Rupaul's Drag Race UK.
