Ghost kicked off the U.S. leg of their 2023 'Re-Imperatour' on August 2 at the Concord Pavilion, in Concord, California with special guest Amon Amarth. The Swedish metal band have a total of 28 stops planned across the country, with two final shows taking place on September 11 and 12 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Amon Amarth started things off with a boatload of energy, playing a total of nine songs. And speaking of boats, crowd-favorite “Put Your Back into the Oar” had fans rowing all throughout the pit!
Another highlight of their set would have to be when the band fought a dragon (and won) mid-performance. Here is some fan-footage of the ridiculous stage design here:
Next up was the main event, Ghost, who certainly didn't disappoint. The group jammed out to a total of 20 songs, beginning with "Kaisarion." One surprise that stuck out to fans who had been keeping track of prior setlists this tour was "Absolution," which wasn't played at all during the European leg.
Ghost also made sure to play some iconic classics from their discography, including "Ritual," driving the audience crazy.
Newer fans driven in from the online success of their song "Mary on a Cross" this past year on Tik Tok were treated to the viral hit.
