From August 3 to August 6, hundreds of thousands of music fans gathered at Grant Park in Downtown Chicago for one of the biggest music festivals in the world: Lollapalooza. The four day extravaganza featured more than 170 different artists performing on eight different stages. Let's take a look at some highlights from this year's fest:
Billie Eilish was the opening headliner of the weekend, playing a total of 24 songs during her hour and twenty minute set. In addition to playing some of her most popular tracks, the singer live debuted "What Was I Made For" - the brand new song she wrote for the billion-dollar blockbuster movie Barbie.
Karol G made Lollapalooza history that Thursday by becoming the first Latina headliner of the festival! She played a total of 20 songs including fan favorites "TQG," "AMARGURA," and "MAMIII."
Kendrick Lamar was one of the headliners for Friday, drawing one of the biggest crowds of the festival according to those in attendance. Fans came out in droves to hear the rapper's 21-song set, featuring a remix of "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe."
The 1975 was another heavy hitter that day, and played a total of 15 songs. One viral moment of their set was when lead vocalist Matty Healy jumped off of the stage to greet and hug his friend Tom DeLonge of Blink-182 during "Robbers."
Despite a bit of rain in Chicago that Saturday, electronic duo ODESZA kept things cool with their hype 24-song set as well as a light display that was only enhanced by the weather.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER were also history makers this past weekend, becoming the first K-Pop group to headline Lollapalooza! Not only did the boy band surprise fans with a live debut of "Do It Like That," but they also brought out Coi Leray for their collaboration "Happy Fools" and her very own song "Players!"
The Red Hot Chili Peppers had the honor of being a closing headliner on night four, and definitely did not disappoint. The band played 17 songs, with epic solos from Flea and John Frusciante.
Lana Del Rey was the final headliner of Lollapalooza, or as some of her fans would call it 'Lanapalooza!' The singer started her set with "A&W" off of her latest studio album and played a total of 18 songs.
