How did summer speed by so quickly?
When we see Outside Lands on the calendar it's almost like the bookend of what Coachella started back in April: close to the end of the U.S. festival season.
The ladies sure brought many of the highlights of this year's San Francisco festival held in the gorgeous (though wet and cold) Golden Gate Park.
Here's some of the best moments
Victoria Monet, "Stop (Askin' Me 4Shyt)"
Dressed like a college girl on Halloween who isn't sure if she wants to dress as a sexy cowgirl or the world's most beautiful exotic dancer, Victoria Monet, for some reason thought she needed to introduce herself to the adoring crowd.
"If you don't know, my name is Victoria Monet," the singer said walking across the stage, blonde hair flowing in the wind. "and I am from right up the street, Sacramento, California. 916 all day."
During the hilarious and bumpin "Stop..." she tells the antagonist to stop doing a list of things. But during the turn at soggy and chilly Outside Lands she added, "stop being so f-ing cold in the summer time, please."
The crowd agreed and dreamed of a warm drink.
Victoria has two dates left on her tour schedule this year. Stop believing you don't need to see her live. Grab tickets on her website.
Chappell Roan, "Pink Pony Club"
We've now seen it in the South, the Midwest, the East, and this weekend in San Francisco, we saw the enormous crowds adoring every step Chappell Roan makes.
This is a woman who had to go back to live at home after her first shot of being a signed artist didn't pan out.
And now look.
Celebrating the first anniversary of the "Hot To Go" music video, Chappell, who changes looks each show, dressed up in the costume she wore in the video.
And, being the sassy little star she is, ridiculed those in the prime location, for not joining in on the dance craze.
“It’s so weird that VIP thinks they’re so way too cool to do this," she said looking at the exclusive section of the fest. "You’re not fun! Be fun and try!”
Chappell is taking a few weeks off and then bringing the fun to Europe. Get your tickets to those shows on Chappell's website.
Sabrina Carpenter, "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'"
"There's an artist I've loved my entire life, and she is so remarkable in so many ways and her voice has taken me through so much of my life and so many pivotable moments," Carpenter said before welcoming Kacey Musgraves onto the stage to duet on the Nancy Sinatra hit.
Lee Hazelwood wrote the iconic tune which couldn't have been more smoldering than with Sabrina and Kacey who seemed to love it as much as the crowd.
Musgraves is second on the list of people who have covered it the most at 90. You'll never guess who has done it more: Megadeth at 144.
Sabrina takes a little break from gigging until next month when she kicks off the Short N' Sweet Tour. Get your tickets on Sabrina's website.
Grace Jones, "Nightclubbing"
At 76 years-old Grace Jones can still wow them with style, shock, and substance.
She even set the bar for ways to open a show. The SF Chronicle said she stole the show with her energetic dancing and humor.
Appearing in a 40-foot gown resembling a Keith Haring print, was just the beginning. "Nothing and no one can outmatch high-femme yet androgynous Jamaican performer, who climbed atop a muscled stud for an extended detour through the audience while wearing a silver sequined bowler hat," the SFS wrote.
Post Malone, "I Had Some Help"
When Posty sang "I Had Some Help" as the 12th song in his set, it was the first time he didn't play a cover in his 13-song performance.
The catchy, upbeat single about refusing to accept full blame for the ills of a relationship, is one of three that have been released for Malone's forthcoming country album, F-1 Trillion. It is not an album of country covers. Post either wrote or co-wrote all 18 tracks on the LP that comes out Friday.
So why not play more than one of those songs to the young audience that probably didn't come there for country covers from the likes of George Strait or Tim McGraw?
Maybe because Posty doesn't seem to look at concerts as ways to sell records. He looks at them as avenues in which to jam on songs he loves, be they by Nirvana or Tobey Keith. And that's why we love our tattooed face angel.
