Halsey Wows in London with an Unreleased Live Debut

It’s a great week to be a Halsey fan. The pop megastar is marking their return to music with not only a series of new singles, but also a powerful performance in an intimate London club that attendees have been ruminating on ever since. The 20-song setlist included all the best Halsey songs, plus one unreleased live debut that made for a once-in-a-lifetime concert moment.

Settling in at the 1,500-capacity KOKO London, a far cry from the arenas she normally sells out, Halsey put on one of their most engaging performances ever. Fresh off the release of their new single, “Lonely Is The Muse,” the latest off their upcoming fifth album, fans were treated to a mix of genre-bending bangers that only Halsey can pull off. While pop is their forte, they also have a talent for electronic, rock, and occasional R&B tunes, and it truly showed in London.

A recorded snippet of “Lonely is the Muse” began the set, before Halsey dove into old favorites like “Nightmare,” “Castle,” “Easier than Lying” and “You Should Be Sad.” Later, she belted out “Lucky,” one of her newer tracks inspired by the Britney Spears song of the same name. Most of the setlist was composed of classics, such as “Hurricane,” honey,” “3am” and “Closer,” their collaboration with The Chainsmokers. However, the excitement around Halsey’s new album was vibrating throughout KOKO London.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been without struggles. Halsey has spent the last few years on hiatus due to health issues. And they haven’t been shy about the pressure they’re under for the first new album since 2021’s If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power. But if their new singles are any indication, Halsey is back and better than ever. And as the singer wrapped up the main set and gracefully entered the encore, the audience was treated to even more.

The second song of the encore? None other than “Ego,” a live debut that’s never even been released! Therefore, this small segment of London fans was the first group to ever hear what could go down as one of Halsey’s best tracks. And the excitement was flowing just as much as the drinks that the audience held in the air mid-song. As they completed the night with “Gasoline,” “Experiment on Me,” and “Without Me,” one thing became clear… Halsey is in their prime.

While the new album doesn’t have a release date just yet, you’re going to be seeing a lot more of Halsey in the coming months. Are you as excited as we are? Relive the night in London with the full setlist here.
