Queen of the World Tour, Taylor Swift wrapped the European leg of the Eras Tour last night with five more sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium in London. We’ve tracked her 48 Europe shows here at setlist.fm for the last few months, tallying all of the star’s live debuts, special guests and tour surprises.
After releasing The Tortured Poets Department during the Asia & Europe tour interim, Taylor changed the Eras setlist to include the new album––cutting favorites from previous eras to make room for the 7-number set. Reactions to the changes ran the gamut from mourning losses to shocked and delighted.
But not all hope is lost for those wanting to hear favorites from her earlier albums! The official setlist includes an acoustic two-song surprise arc that changes nightly, peppering the tour with songs from the archives, covers and, especially, more live debuts from TTPD. Here’s a breakdown of the surprises from Taylor’s final shows in Europe:
London Night 1:
- “Everything Has Changed” / “End Game” / “Thinking Out Loud” mashup on guitar with Ed Sheeran
- “King of My Heart” / “The Alchemy” mashup on piano
London Night 2:
- “London Boy” tour debut on guitar
- “Dear John” / “Sad Beautiful Tragic” mashup on piano
London Night 3:
- “I Did Something Bad” tour debut on guitar
- “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys” / “coney island” mashup on piano
London Night 4:
- “Long Live” / “Change” mashup on guitar, tour debut for “Change”
- “The Archer” / “You’re On Your Own, Kid” mashup on piano
London Night 5:
- “Florida!!!” live debut added to TTPD set, with Florence Welch
- “Death by a Thousand Cuts” with Jack Antonoff on guitar (contains elements of “Getaway Car”)
- “So Long, London” live debut on piano
The London shows included surprise appearances by Ed Sheeran, Jack Antonoff and Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine. On her last night in London, Swift broke a Wembley Stadium record, previously held by Michael Jackson, as the first solo artist to perform eight sold-out shows in one tour. Fans in attendance were gifted with two live debuts and two special guests.
The popstar brought out Florence + The Machine’s lead singer during her TTPD set for a live debut of “Florida!!!” and closed out the show with a live debut of “So Long, London” (okay theme!!!). On nights two & three, Taylor performed “London Boy” and “I Did Something Bad,” which she hadn’t performed since 2019 and 2018, respectively.
Throughout her criss-crossing of Europe these last few months, we’ve seen a total of 42 live debuts, 30 TTPD debuts, various tour debuts, five duets, several deep-cuts, a few covers, two Taylor songs from major motion pictures and even a surprise theatrical acting debut for beau Travis Kelce. Not to mention––her Edinburgh show registered on seismic activity scale (a.k.a. Swifties can literally move heaven and earth).
These side-by-side charts show just how much the tour stats changed pre-and-post TTPD release. Just in 2024, the new album makes the by-the-numbers cut as the fifth most played, while it only lands at 9 in the overall tour statistics. Dig further into these numbers here.
The end of this leg of the tour is bittersweet because it means the two-year, 152-show Eras Tour is one step closer to its end. But don’t lament yet, Swifties, the tour will pick back up in October with shows in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis before heading to Toronto and closing out in Vancouver. Fans who scored tickets to these shows can look forward to a new opener––singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, who joined Taylor onstage in London in June to perform the pair’s new single.
As for the surprises in store for the rest of the Eras Tour, we’re wondering what guests Taylor might bring out. Will Post Malone join her during the TTPD set for their collab, “Fortnight?” We could definitely see more of her co-producer and friend, Jack Antonoff. The star also has a duet with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes on Lover and has definite fans in other famous Canadian artists like The Weeknd and Drake.
At this point, Taylor is the reigning Queen of star-studded, surprise-packed shows. The ultimate question, though, is whether or not she’ll debut “Cassandra,” making a rather poetic consummation of the entire 31-track, two-hour-and-two-minute TTPD: The Anthology during the tour. The odds are in our favor, my friends.
Swift has confirmed that the tour will end in December, but many avid decoders of the popstar’s famous “easter eggs” speculate that she may make return visits to cities like L.A., Nashville and New York that hold a special place in her history. Only time will tell! We’ll be sure to update you if surprise dates are added.
