Liam and Noel Gallagher returned Canada on Sunday (8/24) for the first time in 16 years while selling out the new Rogers Stadium.

In front of 50,000 joyous fans of the GTA, the brothers belted out their cherished hits, led the Canucks into a beautiful journey of nostalgia, and taught the fellow servants of the crown how to deliver a "Poznań."

It was a wee more love from the stage than most were expecting, but it was roundly accepted.

“I bumped into a geezer today about half seven in the morning called Hugo. He comes up to me and says, ‘Mr. Gallagher,’ and I said, ‘No need for that. It’s Liam,'" the younger brother explained to the crowd.

“He says, ‘Good luck tonight trying to get these Canadians doing the Poznań...they’re all a little bit shy. They’re a little bit scared and stuff. They all smoke pot now. They’re all fucking out of their heads,” Liam continued.

So before the band kicked into “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” Liam taught the willing audience how to pull off a proper Poznań, made famous by supporters of the Polish football club Lech Poznań and was subsequently spread to other clubs and countries.

“You lot turn around. Put your arms around each other. Give each other a cuddle, and just jump up and down. It’s very easy,” the singer explained. 

When the song ended and the notoriously critical frontman was pleased with what he saw, he said, “we showed Hugo [the geezer]. We showed him.”

On their way to Canada, Oasis released their latest single “Bring It On Down (Live from Edinburgh, 9 August ‘25),” which was recorded on night #2 of their three night run at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.

Over 200k fans saw them at the Scottish capitol. A pristine live recording is a brilliant move.

On that first night at Rogers Stadium "Bring It on Down" led into Liam's Poznan instruction.

So, wait, Rogers Stadium? Yes. Glad you asked.

Rogers Stadium is a new temporary open-air music venue in Toronto, built on the former Downsview Airport grounds and created exclusively for concerts for the next 5-6 years. It can hold about 50k attendees.

Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto (formerly SkyDome) is the longtime home of the Blue Jays and also hosts major concerts, and it sits about 14 kilometers (roughly 9 miles) south of Rogers Stadium. It can hold hold over 50k concertgoers.

Rogers Arena is an indoor sports and concert venue that sits about 19k and lives way on the west coast of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Rogers Stadium was deemed necessary for a number of reasons. As much as locals love the former Skydome, when big summer tours like Coldplay or, yes, Oasis want to come to town, often it was difficult to book Rogers Arena because the current front-running Blue Jays are there for half of the month - if not more.

So Rogers and Live Nation teamed up to create a temporary oasis of sorts in Downsview that was announced last September and hosted its first concert, the KPop chart-toppers, Stray Kids, two months ago.

Because of the bitter winters, Canadians love to be outside in the summer and this outdoor music-only venue will only be in operation during those warm months.

Next on the Roger Stadium calendar are two nights on 9/3 and 9/5 with System of a Down with Deftones (who were just at Rogers Arena in BC). Then the following week Hozier brings his Unreal Unearth Tour to Ontario.

As for Oasis, next they head over to Chicago football stadium, then New Jersey's before wrapping up their relatively short US tour with two nights at the Rose Bowl.

Then they cross the border for two nights in Mexico City followed by two more nights at Wembley Stadium. Tickets are sold out everywhere but go to the Oasis website anyway. You might get lucky.
