Olivia Rodrigo has spent much of 2026 avoiding headlining arenas and stadiums, and instead surprising fans with intimate pop-up shows in small rooms.
On Thursday (8/6), she created another core memory for her luckiest fans with a surprise performance at Warsaw in Brooklyn, playing many of her newest tunes within a 1,000-capacity venue for “One Night Only: Live at Warsaw.”
The concert was announced that morning, giving fans very little time to get themselves to Greenpoint and try their luck at the venue's window.
Tickets were just $25 but Olivia announced the show around 10 in the morning meaning fans had to get it together and make their way to Driggs Avenue faster than a vampire before the sunrise.
As you might expect, in no time the wristbands were gone. And even if one lived in one of the five boroughs, entry depended on location, location, location.
The chart-topping pop princess has made a fun run of turning up where fans do not expect her.
Since April she's appeared unannounced during Addison Rae’s Coachella set on Weekend 2 for the live debut of “Drop Dead;” that was followed by a 13-song, invite-only “One Night Only” show at The Echo in LA on April 24; a few days later she slipped into the weekly open mic at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn on April 26 to perform “Drop Dead" acoustic; Olivia then played a secret set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 6, where Robert Smith joined her for “What’s Wrong With Me?;” and last month she joined the Smashing Pumpkins at Lollapalooza on July 31 for “Thirty-Three;” then she stoked the fans of Brooklyn last week.
What the lucky thousand fans got was a healthy diet of nine songs from her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, three from GUTS and three from SOUR.
No “vampire,” “get him back!,” nor “traitor.” But when the setlist is just 15 songs, something must be cut.
On July 29, Olivia taped a performance down in Texas for ACL Live where she live debuted a number of new tracks: “my way,” “u + me = <3,” “maggots for brains,” “purple,” “less,” “honeybee,” “cigarette smoke” and “expectations.”
Which means, when she played “my way,” “u + me = <3,” “maggots for brains,” “less,” “honeybee” and “expectations” in Brooklyn, it was their live debut above the Mason / Dixon Line.
“Thank you so much for coming. You waited in line in the heat," Olivia told her fans who had braved 90 degree temps and a punishing 70% humidity.
"This is such a special show," she continued. "This is the first time I’m playing so many of the songs from my new album live. It’s really, really fun, so thank you so much for joining me."
Olivia got emotional while singing "less" for just the second time live. The touching song's lyric video has over 7.4 million views on YouTube.
It wouldn't be a terrible idea to release it as the fourth single from the album.
What's next for Olivia is her much anticipated Daisy Chain Festival in Irvine, California, which doesn't take place for nearly three more weeks.
Does that mean our girl will do one more pop-up show in Los Angeles, where she is from? Maybe somewhere truly unique like the Hollywood Forever Cemetery or more rockin' like The Whisky or the Viper Room? Or how about somewhere out near Coachella, in Joshua Tree, Pappy & Harriet's.
The sky's the limit for Ms. Rodrigo.
