Portugal. The Man Wraps Up North American Tour

It seems like Portugal. The Man has been touring nonstop since the release of their eighth full-length studio album, Woodstock. The band just wrapped up an extensive North American tour, taking a much-needed break before heading to their home state Alaska to play two shows at Anchorage's Alaska Airlines Center on October 26th and 27th.

The alt-rockers have been together for nearly a decade, but 2017's "Feel It Still" is what really got them noticed. The song, which won them a Grammy, is the second single off of Woodstock and the band's first big radio hit.

While the band takes a breather, let's sit back and look at some of the tour's most memorable moments.

Throughout the tour, Portugal. The Man played mostly off of their recently released Woodstock and 2013's Evil Friends. After a trippy, customized introduction video a la Beavis and Butthead, the "greatest band in the world" took the stage and performed a roughly 10-minute medley of Metallica's "For Whom the Bells Toll," Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" and their own "Purple Yellow Red and Blue."

The set employed a few more transitions comprised of their own and borrowed material, as well as flashing lights and weird, hypnotic visuals flashing on the big screens.

Edgefield– Portland, Oregon

Portugal. The Man headlined a two-night stand at McMenamins Edgefield in Portland in August. Despite the thrill of a "hometown show" (the band is based in Portland) and a sold out show, their main focus of the night was on mental health.

Partnering with fellow Portland-based musician Logan Lynn, Portugal. The Man welcomed "Keep Oregon Well" to their performance, a company designed to reduce stigma surrounding mental and behavioral health. Volunteers donning "Keep Oregon Well" shirts roamed around the venue, and trucks with the same print were parked outside.

A fan captured a clip of the band playing "Feel It Still," complete with acrobatics.

Bumbershoot – Seattle, Washington

The band hit up a few festivals amidst this tour, and one of the most notable was Seattle's annual Bumbershoot.

The band was in full festival mode, playing "Live in the Moment," a song inspired by the experiences of frontman John Gourley's dad at the Woodstock music festival in 1969.

Portugal. The Man brought along some local Native Americans holding signs of protest and playing traditional Native American music before the show. The band grew up surrounded by a vast native population in Alaska.
