Red Hot Chili Peppers Perform in Singapore After 17 Years!

Red Hot Chili Peppers returned to Singapore after 17 whole years with a performance at the massive Padang Stage following the end of the Formula 1 Grand Prix race on September 22nd.
The high-energy funk rock legends delivered a set to match the tone of the big car race and busted out an 18-song setlist that touched on all corners of their 36-year career.
They opened the night with a funky instrumental jam before segueing into 2002's "Can't Stop." The night was full of fan favorites and rock hits like "Snow ((Hey Oh))" and "Californication," along with deep cuts like "The Zephyr Song" and "Soul to Squeeze."

They also included some newer tracks off of 2016's The Getaway like "Dark Necessities" and "Go Robot." They filled out the setlist with a few covers, the most notable being the live debut of "Just What I Needed" by The Cars. Artists from all over have been covering The Cars the past couple of weeks in remembrance and in honor of the recently passed Ric Ocasek. They performed it after their take on another cover, "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder.

They ended the set with "By the Way" before coming back out for the three-song encore. It started with guitarist Josh Klinghoffer soloing Prince's "Purple Rain." That was followed by performances of "Goodbye Angels" and then staple RHCP track "Give It Away."
