Twenty One Pilots Kick Off Takeover Tour at Summerfest

On Saturday, September 4, Twenty One Pilots hit the stage in front of a full, live audience for the first time in 600+ days. The 90-minute headlining set at Milwaukee's Summerfest is a glimpse into what the duo have in store for the full scale tour, starting in just a couple weeks.

Twenty One Pilots kicked off their set with the live debut of Scaled and Icy's opening track, "Good Day" albeit a shortened version. "No Chances" was the second live debut of the evening, check out fan footage of that performance:

Several other tracks from SAI got their full-audience live debut (weird that we have to specify that, but the COVID-era saw many livestream debuts) like "The Outside" and "Mulberry Street" and "Saturday."

Halfway through the show, the band brought out a campfire for a singalong section that included the live debut of "Formidable" as part of a medley with "Doubt" (first time played since 2016) and "Tear in My Heart." The campfire portion also included a medley of covers. Enjoy some footage of that:

The band launched back into a fully energetic mashup of "Jumpsuit" and "Heavydirtysoul" before the full-audience debut of "Saturday" and COVID-era anthem "Level of Concern."

The band closed the set with their 3rd most-performed song to date, "Trees."
