On a crisp October night in 2011, attendees of Vice Media's second annual Creator's Project were treated to an extra special set by indie rock band Florence + the Machine.
The band was headlining the invite-only performance in Brooklyn, New York, as a celebration of "creativity, culture and technology." It just so happened to fall on the second night of their tour in support of their upcoming sophomore album, Ceremonials, that would be released two weeks later.
Their 11-song set included six new live debuts, including "Only If for a Night," "Heartlines," "Never Let Me Go," "Spectrum," "No Light, No Light," and most notably "Shake It Out," which would later get nominated for two Grammys at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards.

"This is the first song that we wrote for this new record, Ceremonials, so it seems fitting that it should be the last song we play for you tonight," frontwoman Florence Welch said to the audience before diving into the first live performance of "No Light, No Light" with her band.

Welch described Ceremonials as "an era of high drama and epic theatrics." This tour brought the band all around the country, playing predominantly at music festivals, Welch's favorite way to perform live.
In 2012, the Ceremonials Tour was ranked the 40th best-selling tour in the world, having earned $31.8 million worldwide by the time it wrapped in December. It featured support from various opening acts The Weeknd (Fall North American dates), Snow Patrol (co-headlined at Phoenix Park), Two Door Cinema Club (at the Midland Theatre) and Haim (U.K. and Ireland dates in December 2012).

Florence + the Machine released their fifth studio album, High As Hope, this past June and are just about to wrap up another successful tour. Current members Isabella "Machine" Summers (keyboard, backing vocals), Robert Ackroyd (guitar, backing vocals), Chris Hayden (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Mark Saunders (bass, backing vocals) and Tom Monger (harp) are on the road with Welch in support of the album. The tour kicked off in August and has included support from St. Vincent, Billie Eilish, Perfume Genius, Wet and more.
This album was written entirely by Welch, featuring singles "Sky Full of Song" and "Hunger."
