Phil Collins returned to North America to tour for the first time on the continent since 2010. He kicked off the mighty Not Dead Yet Live tour October 5th at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.
"Now, I know I said I wouldn't be doing this anymore," he said after taking the stage, "but the fact is I missed you."
Although Collins suffers from back and leg problems, and is needing to complete the performances on this tour mostly sitting down, it, in no way, is taking away from the experience. The night featured a whopping 20-song set riddled with heavy hitters from all the peaks of Collins' career, leaning heavily toward his '80s era material. With that said, he still included '90s licks "Can't Turn Back the Years," "Dance Into The Light," and "You'll Be In My Heart" off of the Tarzan soundtrack, which marked its first live performance since 2006.
Three Genesis tracks also found their way onto the setlist: "Throwing it All Way," "Follow You Follow Me" and "Invisible Touch." For the encore, Collins came back out to perform "Take Me Home." Watch a video of him performing his epochal hit "In The Air Tonight" at the concert, below:
His set this next night remained the same as the night before, foreshadowing what the rest of the tour will probably look like. Check out the setlist:
