Tour Update: Tove Styrke

Say her name! Here, we'll help you out: it's pronounced Toovah Steerkah. She's likely already on your radar, as she spent this year opening for the likes of Lorde and Katy Perry—no small feat. The Swedish pop singer-songwriter also released her 3rd studio album, Sway, in May and embarked on her own headlining tour. We caught up with Tove at the tail end of her North American leg and the charming star told us about the benefits of those supporting spots and what experience she aims to create at her own shows. Watch our tour update episode:

Tove Styrke Unleashes 'Sway' and Embarks On Headlining Tour

On supporting Lorde and Katy Perry:
“The support tours were really, really great for finding a new audience and connecting with all these new people. Some people come there, they’ve heard of me before; some of them looked me up because they see that I’m gonna open; and some people they hear me for the first time that night. And it’s just so cool that  fast—the connection with a lot of new people.”

Her wish for her shows:
“I want my fans to come to the show and have fun. I want them to feel safe, I want them to feel free and I want to create this space where we can meet. I share this music with my fans. Those are the only people in the world who this music matters as much to, as it does to me. We share that. To me, it’s like a celebration, a space where we can meet and be in this music and dance to this music and sing to this music, scream. Just having a good time."
