Guns N' Roses Continue Not In This Lifetime Tour - See Highlights

Let out a sigh of relief. You don’t need to suppress your appetite any longer — that is, your appetite for destruction. That’s right, the most dangerous band in the world is back on the road for yet another leg of their acclaimed Not In This Lifetime Tour.
Bringing the show across the United States and Mexico for a limited number of shows, the rock legends Guns N’ Roses are in the midst of another addition to their everlasting tour. Originally opening in the spring of 2016, the Not In This Lifetime Tour is one of the most successful concert runs of all time, despite the fact that Guns N’ Roses haven’t released a record with their original band since 1993.

Of course, their lineup has changed over the years regardless following frequent well-documented creative and personal differences amongst the bandmates. But what band hasn’t faced those challenges? In this case, bigger personalities were more or less the cause of publicity. Fortunately, original members Axl Rose (vocals), Slash (guitar) and Duff McKagan (bass) have settled their differences enough to come back together for this current three year-long tour.
So what’s next on their agenda? New music? Other promotions? Well, not much has been said in that regard, however what we can look forward to are more dates to come on this current tour and what a show it has been.
From the frequent pyrotechnics to the intense light shows, the production of this tour has done nothing, but scream GNR at every show. Luckily, as an addition to those perks, the band has provided the perfect musical compliment to such a visual production.
Whether it be the famous Axl Rose wardrobe changes or Slash’s seemingly non-stop guitar solos, this show never fails to remind the audience of exactly who Guns N’ Roses are, and that has never really changed. But, in the end, it really is the iconic music that has kept the band going since their formation in 1985, and who could blame them with that talent?
Guns N' Roses Tweets About 2019 Tour Date
On this leg of the Not In This Lifetime Tour, GNR has kept the setlist relatively the same at every show, minus small changes here and there. For the most part, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have pulled mostly from the albums Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusion I, however they’ve also squeezed in a fair number of covers, including a few off of their own records. With such success over a three decade-long career, it’s easy to forget that the guys have released only six full studio albums, including 2008’s Chinese Democracy which doesn’t include most of the original lineup.

Thankfully, GNR are pros when it comes to performances and their setlist helps drive it. Even from the start of the show, the rock royals kickoff every night with a list of outright hits including “It’s So Easy,” “Mr. Brownstone,” ''Chinese Democracy,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Better,” “Live and Let Die,” “Rocket Queen” and “You Could Be Mine.”

As the show progresses, in between covers like the Misfits’ “Attitude,” Velvet Revolver’s “Slither,” Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman” and Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” GNR has also thrown in a mix of deep cuts like “Shadow Of Your Love” and “Locomotive” which hadn’t been played live since 1992 prior to the current tour’s leg.

To end off the main set, GNR performs a combination of “Civil War,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “November Rain,” “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” and “Nightrain,” before an ever-changing multi-song encore featuring unpredictable hits and covers like “Don’t Cry,” “Madagascar,” “Patience,” The Who’s “The Seeker” and “Paradise City.”
