Exactly six years ago today, The Father of Rock and Roll Chuck Berry took the stage in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri to play what would be his final live performance.
The concert took place on October 15, 2014 at Blueberry Hill with a 14-song setlist. The show was extra special because it was only a few days before his 88th birthday.
Although the performance had been rough as Berry played off key because he suffered from hearing problems, and forgot lyrics, the man was nearing his 90s so the fact that he even busted out 14 songs was impressive.
The set kicked off with hit "Roll Over Beethoven" and he even got an impromptu "Happy Birthday" sang to him from the audience after the third song, "Wee Wee Hours."
Berry even blessed fans with a request - "School Day (Ring Ring Goes the Bell.)" His cover of B.B. King's "Rock Me Baby" was sang by his daughter Ingrid.
"Johnny B. Goode" and "Back in the U.S.A." all made it into the setlist, and the last song he would perform live was "Reelin' and Rockin'" followed by an instrumental to end the night.
