Setlist History: Dr. John's Final Known Performance in 2017

Malcolm John Rebennack, better known in the music world as Dr. John, was a New Orleans legend. A Grammy winner, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and influence to many who passed away at age 77 in 2019. Today’s setlist history looks back on his last known public performance at Yonder Field in Bowman, South Carolina on October 14, 2017.

The 10-song set was made up of mostly covers, including set-opener “The Monkey” by Dave Bartholomew. The original songs he did perform were “Renegade” “I Walk on Guided Splinters” “Food For Thot” and his second most-performed song, “Such a Night” closed out the set. Noticeably absent was his chart topper and most-performed track, “Right Place, Wrong Time.”
