Eras Tour Update: Three Nights In Miami and New Orleans

We’re back with another Eras Tour update, Swifties. Taylor returned to the stage in late October for the final North American leg of her massive world tour.

If you’ve been following along, we’re bringing you all the live debuts, special guests and tour surprises here at setlist.fm. After releasing TTPD during the tour’s hiatus in April, Taylor overhauled her setlist to include the 11th studio album as an official era. We were wondering if there would be any changes between the European leg and her final trek through the U.S. and Canada, but the setlist has remained unaltered––including the show’s special two-song arc that changes nightly.

Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve seen during the surprise set since our last update:

Miami Night 1:

  • “Tim McGraw” / “Timeless” mashup on guitar
  • “this is me trying” / “Daylight” mashup on piano

Miami Night 2:

  • “Should’ve Said No” / “I Did Something Bad” mashup on guitar
  • “loml” / “White Horse” mashup on piano

Miami Night 3:

  • “Out of the Woods” / “All You Had to Do Was Stay” mashup on guitar
  • “mirrorball” / “Guilty as Sin?” mashup on piano

New Orleans Night 1:

  • “Our Song” / “Call It What You Want” mashup on guitar
  • “The Black Dog” / “Haunted” mashup on piano

New Orleans Night 2:

  • “Espresso” / “Is It Over Now?” / “Please Please Please” mashup on guitar with Sabrina Carpenter
  • “Hits Different” / “Welcome to New York” mashup on piano

New Orleans Night 3:

  • “Afterglow” / “Dress” mashup on guitar
  • “How You Get the Girl” / “Clean” mashup on piano

Everyone tuned into the zeitgeist knows that Sabrina Carpenter opened the Eras Tour in Europe, so perhaps the most iconic moment of these U.S. shows was her surprise guest appearance on night two in New Orleans. The duo performed a mashup of Carpenter’s global hits “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” and Swift’s “Is It Over Now?”

In an Instagram post, Carpenter wrote: “only stage i’d ever wanna see on a day off !!!! thank you for working late, thank you for being a singer and thank you for having me <3 @taylorswift i love you!!”

For weeks, my social media feeds have been filled with hopeful searches for last minute tickets. I spoke with friends who attended the tour about the life-changing experience of being one of the Lucky Ones to acquire a ticket. Kaitlyn Blanchard, a New Orleans-native and major Swiftie, attended the tour for the third time in New Orleans, likening it to her own personal SuperBowl. Blanchard started planning a year-and-a-half ago, and says her favorite part is trading the now-famous friendship bracelets with strangers who swiftly (sorry) become fast friends.

When I asked her to sum up the Eras Tour experience, she said: "There's no words to sum up the feeling you get when that clock pops up on the screen, the lights go off and the bracelets light up. It always gives me chills. By the end of the night, your feet hurt and your costumes are probably falling apart and your throat hurts from screaming, but it's the best 3.5 hours of your life."

At the end of our last update, we speculated whether Taylor would debut TTPD’s “Cassandra,” rounding out an entire album debut on this world tour. She didn’t play them in the first two cities of the final leg, but you know where to find us if she does. Fingers crossed, Swifties!
