Foster the People Announce the Paradise State of Mind Tour

Foster the People are back. On your Spotify playlists, in your minds, and perhaps most importantly, on your local stage! The pop duo has announced the Paradise State of Mind tour for 2025, which begins on January 25th, 2025, in Seattle, WA, and visits an impressive 23 cities. Marking their first full-length trek in half a decade, fans are anticipating a sensational show that blends pop classics with chart-topping new singles.

This Foster the People tour is named for their all-new fourth album, Paradise State of Mind — which also happens to be their first in over seven years. A 1970s-inspired record with elements of disco, funk, and jazz — plus lyrical content centered on modern conflicts like COVID and Ukraine — it’s the quintessential blend of old meets new. Every listener can relate to these upbeat-yet-authentic tunes about the world as we know it, which you’ll understand firsthand on the Foster the People tour.

“I think the trickiest part about this record was trying to be authentic about what had been going on with me,” says Mark Foster, “without writing something super dark and without glossing over it, either. Because, to me, it was really important that hope remain at the core of this whole thing. People need hope. I need hope. And when I think about what hope is – it’s having the courage to walk towards something that you think can be better, while fully acknowledging the darkness and reality around you.”

“That was the goal,” he continues,” walking into this album, which was actually really tricky – to make something that rang true to what was on my mind, but that had this much groove and that would be fun to dance to. You know, to me, they're like Trojan Horses, the message is hiding in the melody.” If there’s one thing that Foster the People does to perfection, it’s to craft a brutally catchy melody that appeals to the heart and mind. And they may have just outdone themselves on Paradise State of Mind.

New singles like “Lost in Space,” “Take Me Back,” and “Chasing Low Vibrations” are already gaining momentum among fans and critics alike. Associated Press states that members Mark Foster and Isom Innis “haven’t lost a step, making thoughtful, first-rate pop for a jangled, insecure era.” Meanwhile, Consequence praised the new record for “(invoking) moments of psychedelia, the space age, the anthemic of the ’80s, and dramatic disco strings.” These guys may have been born in the 80s, but they more than understand the 70s state of mind.

And soon, so will the fans who have waited the better half of a decade to see Foster the People hit the stage with new songs again. 2025 will be a standout year for the group as they create an epic mashup of musical genres and angsty decades. And you don’t want to miss them performing both new singles and old favorites like “Pumped Up Kicks,” “Call It What You Want,” and “I Would Do Anything For You.” Tickets for the Paradise State of Mind Tour are available starting Friday, October 18th.
