"Where's my Sally tonight?" Role Model asked during his opening song on Saturday Night Live this weekend (10/11) in NYC.
The singer, who was born Tucker Pillsbury, waved his arm and none other than Charli XCX (who was born Charlotte Emma Aitchison) pranced out to dance to his infectious bop, "Sally, When the Wine Runs Out."
All while wearing a Max's Kansas City shirt... which seemed to confuse many, including those in the media.

Max's Kansas City was a legendary club in Manhattan in the 1970s that closed in 1981 the night after the Beastie Boys opened for Bad Brains there.
Bruce Springsteen played there 46 times. The only act our database says rocked it more were The Velvet Underground, who opened the place and played their last gig with Lou Reed there. They performed at the club 67 times.

But when Charli came out wearing a black leather skirt, black shades, and a dark Max's Kansas City tshirt on, outlets like Entertainment Tonight instantly assumed it was a response to the alleged Taylor Swift diss track "Actually Romantic" which is supposedly aimed at the British pop star.
If only ET had someone on staff who knew the "Sally" track was off Role Model's 2024 album, Kansas Anymore. It was not a passive aggressive "nod" to Taylor's fiance who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Despite how the song has been embraced on social media, “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” did not enter the Billboard Hot 100 or the Top 200 Singles chart. It peaked instead at #7 on Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles. The song reached #1 on Adult Alternative Airplay, #3 on Alternative Airplay, #7 on Rock & Alternative Airplay, and #17 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs.
Does it need to get placed in a commercial for Sally's Beauty? Does it need to make its way into a Hollywood movie? Perhaps Charli dancing to it is the step in the right direction, however she is just the most recent of the guest dancers during Role Model's shows this year. Here's a few others.
Dylan Minnette, April 1 @ The Wiltern
The handsome star of TV (13 Reasons Why, Prison Break, Saving Grace) and movies Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014), Goosebumps (2015), recently told Rolling Stone that acting is "just a job" and that he is more interested in pursing music.
So expect to see him on stage a little more often where he fronts the Wallows as co-lead singer and rhythm guitarist alongside another fellow actor, Braeden Lemasters, as well as and Cole Preston.
Reneé Rapp, April 2 @ The Wiltern
Audiences fell in love with her when she played Regina George on Broadway in Mean Girls, but now that Reneé is on her sophomore album and in the middle of its tour, fans are comfortable with her becoming so fetch.
Her album Bite Me debuted at #3 on the US Billboard 200 in part because her devil-may-care attitude is so aspirational and her music is fun.
The US portion of the Bite Me Tour has two more weeks left. Catch her in places like the Forum in LA, the Moody in ATX, and at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, among others. Tix available on her site.
Natalie Portman, July 28 @ MSG
Absolutely no disrespect to Reneé Rapp or the guy from 13 Reasons Why, but if you can get Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia's mom to dance with you at Madison Square Garden when you're opening for Gracie Abrams, some might say you've got the Force mastered.
This may have been the moment Mr. Role Model lived up to his name.
Hillary Duff, Oct 3 @ Austin City Limits
Our sweet, sweet Lizzy McGuire has been away from concert stages for a full decade, instead focusing on TV and movie roles.
Recently The Disney Channel star signed a deal with Atlantic Records which will be boosted by a docuseries that will trace her musical comeback. On the heels of selling 15 million copies of Metamorphosis (2003), Hilary Duff (2004), and Most Wanted (2005), it will be interesting to see how she can fare after such a long time off the stage.
Go to her website to get on her email list to catch the news as it happens.
Role Model has one more gig in the States before hopping the pond for a few shows in the UK and then Europe.
Perhaps he will find some Sallys over there. Get your tickets on his website.
